My Favorite Browser Extensions

What's better than searching the web? Searching the web with these browser extensions enabled for an improved experience on the internet. These are my 10 favorite, and they are in no particular order. Yes, they're also free.

  1. Ever get tired of those advertisements on YouTube or other websites? This browser extension can help you browse the internet more efficiently because we all know that life never slows down. Try: Adblock Plus.
  2. Are you busy at the moment, but you want to read a certain article later? Maybe you won't have that same computer with you later when you want to read it... This browser extension will save your article when you click the icon and you can reach it on the site in your account. Try: Pocket.
  3. This browser extension is an anti-malware service. Right click on a link and you can check it with this service. Try: Dr. Web.
  4. Ever been caught off guard from someone that just entered your presence and you don't want them to see what you were looking at for privacy purposes? Don't want to have to scroll through your history to find those tabs... This browser extension will save all the tabs you have open when you click it. When you click it the second time, it will restore all those tabs you had opened. Try: Panic Button.
  5. Scared to click on a certain website? This browser extension collects various ratings from users and places a reputation rating for these two categories: Trustworthiness of site and how suitable it is for children. The icon at the top turns green for good, yellow for average, and red for poor. It also puts the little icon with its color next to your search results, so you don't have to click on it. Try: WOT.
  6. With all these scandals and concerns about browsing privacy, why not try these browser extensions... The first one is Ghostery, which tells you who's tracking you, and it also allows you to block them.
  7. This browser extension improves your security and privacy. Try: Disconnect.
  8. Improve security by encrypting and using HTTPS on the sites you browse. Try: HTTPS Everywhere.
  9. Getting tired of the same old 'new tab page'? Improve the appearance and the form with this browser extension. Try: Awesome New Tab Page.
  10. Getting tired of having wait for a picture to load and having to click on an image to make it bigger? Have a twitter and want to see the tweet with the Instagram photo without clicking on it to go to a new page? This browser extension expands almost any photo on the internet by just hovering over it or a link. Try: Hover Zoom.
